Ashbrooke Summer Fete 2012

The school's summer fete was held on 16 June 2012 with an Olympic theme.  Unfortunately, the weather was very changeable and a decision had to be made in the morning to cancel certain planned demonstrations and races that might cause a health and safety issue if the showers persisted. However, whilst a bit blustery, the time between 2 pm and 4 pm was relatively dry.

Find where the Olympic torch is located on the world map was very popular and was successfully located by Mr Ray Thomas.  A mock Olympic torch was filled with lots of goodies and the weight was guessed correctly by Louise Nunn.  The various tombolas were also popular with children winning jars filled with sweets and the adults winning bottles.

Children enjoyed trying to shoot the footballs off the various stands with water pistols and the creative sand filling of ornaments was also very popular.  A host of raffle prizes were donated by parents and local companies and a big thank you to everyone who donated a prize.

The fete raised over £750 which will be put towards a project to enrich the children's school lives.
